Booking a Show at The Front Porch

We are so happy you’re interested in booking your act at The Front Porch. You can send all booking inquiries to booking@frontporchcville.org. But first, please read this entire page!

Please note: due to the large volume of requests that we receive, we cannot respond to every act who contacts us. We will reach out if we feel your act is a good fit. Please do not book through calling The Front Porch via phone. Please use the booking email provided.

For booking inquiries, we require the following information:

*Artist name
*Genre
*Bio
*Photo
*Live Video
*City / state / country where you are based
*All other pertinent information, including awards you’ve won, musicians you’ve toured with, rave reviews you’ve received, media coverage. Help us know and understand you as an artist!
*Please also include what date(s) you are interested in booking. It helps if you look at our calendar beforehand to make sure we have the date open (Please note* just because a date appears to be open on our calendar does not mean it is available.) We generally book 2-3 months in advance, with little short notice availability.

Why does The Front Porch’s host concerts?

We believe communities are strengthened by coming together to engage with the arts as much as possible. Our mission at The Front Porch is to bring people from all walks of life together through music. One way that we do this is by hosting superb professional musicians for intimate concerts in our listening-room venue. Our goal is to host concerts that exemplify the highest standards of musicianship for our students and for the community at large. We love building long-term professional relationships with musicians, who frequently return to The Front Porch to play for our audiences year after year. We love partnering with musicians to create a nexus of support for their work in Charlottesville, and we especially look forward to seeing them each time they travel through Central Virginia.

Whom do we book?

Genres we most often book include folk, bluegrass, old time, traditional, blues, gospel, soul, and roots. However, we are always open to new ideas, and we’ve welcomed an eclectic mix of musicians and artists over the years. Artistic excellence is our main requirement. We are as apt to book a local band with a big following as we are a nationally recognized act. We are keenly interested in up-and-coming artists, female-led acts, and performers from a diverse array of racial and ethnic backgrounds. We rarely book solo acts.

The Front Porch is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, age, protected veteran or disabled status, or genetic information.

Can I play in your venue as a new or relatively unknown artist?

You’re always welcome to send us a video and give it a shot! We also book for various events around town that have a built in crowd and may be a good fit if our venue is not.

Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you!
