Rivanna Roots is a family-friendly outdoor concert series held on the banks of the Rivanna River.
On the gorgeous property of Rivanna River Company (1520 E High Street), families, nature lovers, and music fans gather. Bring a blanket or a chair, take your shoes off, and enjoy an evening of the finest local music and refreshment in one of the prettiest spots in Charlottesville! Better yet, book a river tour with RRC beforehand and make a day of it!

Rivanna Roots helps bring all of The Front Porch’s community programming to life. With a family-friendly atmosphere and opportunities to connect with your neighbors, Rivanna Roots showcases the richness of the Central Virginia music scene, local food and drinks, and the beauty of the Rivanna River while supporting music education across Charlottesville.

Ticket Information:
Tickets are $14 in advance and $16 at the door
Children 12 and under are FREE
You MUST present your printed or mobile ticket at the gate!
Season Passes:
A SEASON PASS (available through May 12) gets you into all the shows with one single purchase. There is an option to purchase a SEASON PARKING PASS, as well. Early-bird pricing for season passes ends April 14th.
Event Start and End Times:
Doors open at 5 pm. Event start times vary, please check each concert page.
Parking:
Please walk, bike, or carpool whenever possible. Thank you!!
Parking options:
New this year! On-site parking is $5 per car, cash only. If you plan to attend the entire season, there is an option to purchase a SEASON PARKING PASS. Handicap parking is available at Rivanna River Company.
 Important Parking Update for 2023: Parking at Cosner Brother’s Auto Shop is no longer allowed. This will be towing enforced. Please do not attempt to park at Cosner Brothers at any time for events at RRC.
Free Parking Options:
1) Handicap parking available at Rivanna River Company
2) 5 Minute Walk to RRC—The parking lot directly across E High St from the Cosner Brothers shop, adjacent to the corner lot where food trucks park– then use the lighted crosswalk to cross E High St to the Rivanna River Company.
3) 6 Minute Walk to RRC– Lower Burnley Moran Elementary School parking lot— directly next to Fabio’s Pizza drive up Riverdale Dr, this will take you directly into the lower parking lot of Burnley Moran Elementary. Then walk back down the hill and use the lighted crosswalk to cross E High St to the Rivanna RIver Company.
4) 8-9 Minute Walk to RRC— Fairway Ave, which is a wide public street with parking on either side. From there you walk Caroline Ave and then enter into the field and take the path through the meadow to the Rivanna River Company.
Rules & Regulations
- Bring your own reusable cup or purchase one on-site. In an effort to reduce waste, we will not have plastic cups available.
- NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL IS PERMITTED. Coolers and bags may be searched at random on entry.
- Dogs on leash are permitted. Please clean up after your pets.
- Outside food is permitted, but we encourage you to support the local food trucks. Contact food trucks directly for any dietary restrictions.
- Concertgoers are invited to bring blankets and chairs into the venue. No tents, staking or canopies allowed.
- Ponchos and small, personal umbrellas are permitted in the case of rain.
- Portable toilets will be available on site. Sanitizer will be available for use.
- Handicap parking is available on-site. Please note the concert is in a grassy field and there is a gravel driveway.
- The Front Porch or Rivanna River Company cannot guarantee the veracity of tickets bought from resellers. Please use caution when buying resold tickets.
- This event is rain or shine. Serious weather like thunder/lighting/high winds can delay or in some cases result in cancellation. If a concert is canceled, tickets will be refunded within 7 business days.
