Piano Teacher

The Front Porch is currently seeking applicants for a piano teacher for private lesson instruction for kids and some adults! Ideal candidates would have the following skills/qualifications:

– Experience working with children ages 6 and above (required)

– Familiarity with classical music

– Some familiarity with beginner piano curriculum (Alfred, Bastien, Faber, etc.) 

– A flexible weekday schedule with availability starting at 3 pm (required)

– At least one year teaching experience (preferred but not required)

Violin/Fiddle Teacher
The Front Porch is seeking applications for a violin teacher position! The violin teacher will work primarily with children ages 5+. The violin teacher will be asked to be available for annual student performances, bi-annual staff meetings, and occasional teaching. A qualified candidate will possess the following prerequisites:

Availability on weekdays after 2 pm required
At least 1 year of experience teaching private and group violin lessons to children
Experience working with children 5 and up required
Experience coaching string ensembles a plus
Ability to build strong rapport with children and maintain a positive, affirming, and enthusiastic learning environment
Excellent communication skills

Preferred qualifications:

Suzuki ECC, and Units 1-4, or bachelor’s in music education or performance strongly preferred
Ability to teach viola a plus
