Rivanna Roots Concessions Assistant
The Concessions Assistant is part of a busy Front Porch team that produces Rivanna Roots, a bustling outdoor concert series held between May and October at the Rivanna River Company. The Concessions Assistant will be The Front Porch’s primary person running the concessions/alcohol operation at each show in 2024. The Concessions Assistant will report to the Events Manager to assist in the setup and execution of each concert. They will work closely with The Front Porch team and concessions volunteers to ensure a smooth concessions experience for concert attendees.
The Concessions Assistant will work 6.5 hours (3:30 pm – 10 pm) on each of the 14 scheduled shows, taking place on Thursdays and Saturdays from May – October (required dates below). Other hours might include weekday pickup and return of kegs from local vendors (1-2 hours maximum). Pay is $18-20/hour, depending on availability and experience.
Responsibilities:
Set up and tear down of concessions area and drink ticket station on show days
Serve concessions throughout show (pour beer, cider, wine)
Assist in troubleshooting any issues with taps
Assist with pickup and return of kegs in week leading up to show and after a show
Manage inventory of alcohol and concessions
Provide great customer service
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Highly reliable
Warm interpersonal skills, experience working with the public
Organized and attentive to details
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a changing environment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience working in a bar/restaurant is a plus, but not a requirement
Availability to work complete shifts on all show days
21 years +
Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle required.
Ability to lift, carry, or assist in moving heavy objects, including kegs
