Calling all banjo players: you’re invited to join “Banjoficionado” Bill Evans for a Bluegrass Banjo workshop! This two-hour workshop will be a “hands-on and play” session with practical and easy-to-understand tips and skills that you can use in your next jam session or band rehearsal to get a bona-fide bluegrass banjo sound.
Banjo For Dummies author Bill Evans is one of the most experienced bluegrass banjo teachers in the world. Bill is a 2024 inductee into the American Banjo Museum’s Hall of Fame and is a Steve Martin Banjo Prize recipient.

Performance Practice 101 Workshop with Rachel Austin – Mondays, November 11th and 18th at 7:30 pm
Do you struggle with performance jitters? Did you know that Luciano Pavarotti dealt with stage fright throughout his whole career? We’ll use breath, visualization, and gentle movement practices as ways into and around those performance jitters. Each participant will be able to perform a short piece of 2-3 minutes to practice getting up in front of other people in preparation for our showcase, an open mic, or another gig. This is a great workshop for new musicians and for intermediate performers who struggle with stage nerves.
Rachel has a degree in electronic composition and recording from Mills College and an MFA in Performance+Performance Studies from Pratt Institute. She taught voice and performance at Queen’s University Belfast after studying vocal anatomy with Estill Voice and Christina Shewell. She is deeply interested in building technical, emotional, and somatic-based performance skills with singers and musicians.
