Lessons

Our Summer 2017 Session of Lessons is available for registration! Click here to register for our 6 week session of classes that begins on May 15th. The Front Porch’s talented and experienced teaching staff offers private lessons and group lessons on various instruments, including guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass, fiddle, piano, ukulele, voice, and songwriting. We also offer weekend and week-long summer camps for kids, teens, and adults ranging from songwriting to bluegrass, string band, and more! Registration and more information can be found here.

Join us on Sunday, August 6th from 7:00 – 10:00 pm for our second Front Porch open mic! This event is free, open to all musicians and singers, and is the perfect place for Front Porch students to perform in a true listening room setting! More information here.

Tuesday, August 8 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm: The Front Porch, in partnership with James Monroe’s Highland, will host the 3rd annual Tuesday Tunes, a five-part series of sunset concerts at the home of President James Monroe. These performances are a perfect opportunity to bring the family out with blanket and chairs in tow to enjoy music from Virginia and the mid-Atlantic region! The August 8th Tuesday Tunes concert will feature Gallatin Canyon. Tix here.

Join us on Friday, August 11 from 8:00 – 10:30 PM for An Evening with Betse & Clarke. Come enjoy this special duo performance that includes folk, old time, Ozark music, storytelling, and explorer folk! Tix here.

Join us on Saturday, September 16 from 7:30 – 9:30 pm for An Evening with Alash Ensemble. Alash ensemble is a trio of master throat singers (xöömeizhi) from Tuva, a tiny republic in the heart of Central Asia. Come watch this amazing ancient art form! Tix here.
