Our Summer 2017 Session of Lessons is available for registration! Click here to register for our 6 week session of classes that begins on May 15th. The Front Porch’s talented and experienced teaching staff offers private lessons and group lessons on various instruments, including guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass, fiddle, piano, ukulele, voice, and songwriting. Tuesday, June 27 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm: The Front Porch, in partnership with James Monroe’s Highland, will host the 3rd annual Tuesday Tunes, a five-part series of sunset concerts at the home of President James Monroe. These performances are a perfect opportunity to bring the family out with blanket and chairs in tow to enjoy music from Virginia and the mid-Atlantic region! Join us on Friday, June 30 at 7:30 pm for The Fiddler’s Convention on Duck Mountain – a double header concert at The Front Porch with The Orpheus Supertones and Uncle Henry’s Favorites! These folks have devoted their lives to the old time music tradition and bring not only a great deal of sensitivity to the music, but also plenty of spirit and humor in the vein of past Old Time performers. Join us on Sunday, July 2 from 7:00 – 10:00 pm for our first Front Porch open mic! This event is free, open to all musicians and singers, and is the perfect place for Front Porch students to perform in a true listening room setting! More information here.
