BIO

Kelly Chambers, a Virginia Beach native and UVA psychology graduate (class of 2012), has been playing the violin since she was 9 years old. She first started taking lessons on piano, but when a family friend came over for dinner and played violin, she fell in love. Since then, she has enjoyed playing violin in orchestras all through high school and college and in various community orchestras. She has played with Symphonicity in Virginia Beach, the Blue Ridge Chamber Orchestra in Charlottesville, the Waynesboro Symphony, and with the pit band at Live Arts for the production of Violet in fall of 2023. She has a heart for the Lord and loves worshipping with her violin, playing in praise teams and for church events, weddings, and funeral services. Primarily a classical violinist, she’s also been diving into cello and exploring more fiddle music after attending fiddle camp at the Swannanoa Gathering in Asheville, NC. Kelly joined the Front Porch team in 2022 and loves teaching students of all ages. She teaches violin, cello, and ukulele in private, duo, and group classes, and cannot wait to connect with you as you tackle learning how to play these beautiful and challenging string instruments.
