BIO

I grew up in the Waynesboro area and began playing drums in the fifth grade in elementary school. I was fortunate enough to receive great personal instruction and was invited to play with the high school band during my seventh grade year. At age 14 I was the youngest member of the historic Stonewall Brigade band in Staunton. I give credit to my long time drum instructor who saw something in me and took me under his wing. While attending JMU I played in the Marching Royal Dukes as well as the Madisonians jazz choir. After college I found employment in a number of positions within the automotive industry, but continued to play with a variety of bands on the local and regional music scene. I have continued that to this day and currently play on a freelance basis which gives me the opportunity to play with a wide variety of talented musicians. I look forward to sharing some of my experiences with my students at The Front Porch.

MUSICAL DREAM/FUN FACT

I once performed to a crowd estimated to be 90,000 people as an opening act for Reba McEntire. This was only a week after joining the band.
