BIO
I am a violinist and teacher from Central Kentucky, and I am thrilled to be joining the musicians and teachers at The Front Porch! I began playing violin when I was 3 years old and have been playing in orchestras, bands, and chamber ensembles ever since. Some of my favorite experiences have been playing weddings with my string quartet and performing operas and musicals in pit orchestras. As an educator, I have taught orchestra in public schools, taught private lessons, and led an El Sistema-inspired community music program for kids, sponsored by the same youth orchestra I grew up playing in.
This summer, I completed Suzuki certification through book 3 and had a great time revisiting the music I grew up learning. While I am classically trained, I learned to play by ear and enjoy playing lots of styles of music. I especially appreciate playing music with friends and am excited to teach group and individual lessons for people of all ages at The Front Porch.
