Rivanna Roots is a family-friendly outdoor concert series held on the gorgeous property of the Rivanna River Company (1520 E High Street).
Borne out of a need to gather and celebrate music outdoors during the pandemic, we are excited and proud to present the 5th year of Rivanna Roots with 13 concerts this summer, every other Saturday from May – October. Bring a blanket or a chair, take your shoes off, and enjoy an evening of the finest local music and refreshment in one of the prettiest spots in Charlottesville! Better yet, book a river tour with Rivanna River Company beforehand and make a day of it!
Tickets
Tickets are $15 in advance and increase to $18 at 5:00pm the day before the show. There is a small credit card processing fee for online transactions.

Kids 12 and under are FREE – but please add a free “Children’s Ticket” to your cart so we can track attendance.
Season Passes: Grab an “Early Bird” season pass for access to all our summer shows at a discounted price! Only 100 are available and they go up to full price on April 15th, so get them while they last.
Rules, Regulations, & FAQs
- NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL IS PERMITTED. Coolers and bags may be searched at random on entry.
- This event is rain or shine. Serious weather like thunder/lightning/high winds can delay or in some cases result in cancellation. If a concert is canceled, tickets will be refunded within 7 business days.
- Beer, wine, and cider will be served on draft. Please bring your own reusable cup or purchase one on-site. In an effort to reduce waste, we will not have plastic cups available.
- This is an outdoor concert series in a grassy field alongside the banks of the Rivanna River. There are a few picnic tables along the property, but concert-goers are highly encouraged to bring blankets and chairs into the venue. No tents, staking or canopies allowed.
- Parking: Please walk, bike, or carpool whenever possible. On-site parking is $5, cash only. For free parking options, more information, and a map, visit our parking page HERE.
- Handicap parking is available on-site. Please note parking is a gravel driveway and grassy field. Contact Rivanna River Company HERE if you have any questions about accessibility.
- Friendly dogs on non-retractable leashes are permitted. Please be considerate of others, and clean up after your pets. Note: Some dogs may be overstimulated in a loud environment like a concert. Please be considerate of your pets.
- Outside food is permitted, but we encourage you to support the local food trucks. Contact food trucks directly for any dietary restrictions. Food trucks will be listed on each show’s ticketing page, found HERE.
- Ponchos and small, personal umbrellas are permitted in the case of rain.
- Rivanna Roots is a non-smoking venue.
- Portable toilets will be available on site. Sanitizer will be available for use.
- The Front Porch and Rivanna River Company cannot guarantee the veracity of tickets bought from resellers. Please use caution when buying resold tickets.

Proceeds from every ticket you purchase go directly to the performing artists. They also support increased access to music education across our community, environmental & conservation appreciation, and opportunities for budding musicians across the area.
