Camp Holiday Trails Sing-alongs

The Front Porch has been honored to join with Camp Holiday Trails this summer, to lead their campers in rousing sing-a-longs that have been a blast!

Camp Holiday Trails empowers children and teens with medical needs to thrive. It is a year-round nonprofit camp in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central VA, but campers come from throughout the United States with challenging diagnoses including cancer, diabetes, sickle cell, hemophilia, juvenile arthritis, or are recipients of transplants; 47% also have mental health diagnoses and over 70% of campers qualify for free and reduced lunch in their communities. We recognize the power of music to help bring these young folks together! Our sing-a-longs are led by Front Porch outreach teachers and infuse the camp day with song and joy, creating a wonderful community event for the campers and Front Porch folks. Songs are picked from The Front Porch songbook or requested by campers. The joy and energy is palpable – we can’t wait to keep singing with these wonderful kids!

This past summer, Camp Holiday Trails (CHT) had the pleasure of The Front Porch joining us for campfire sing-along. The Front Porch led our campers and staff in kid-friendly and upbeat songs that were engaging and kept our campers and staff asking for more and more. We cannot wait to partner with The Front Porch again into the future to continue sharing the love of music with more youth!
