COVID POLICY ANNOUNCEMENT
AUGUST 11, 2021
The Front Porch is actively tracking the recent surge in COVID-19 cases and the emergence of variants. Given the changing public health context, I write today with an important update regarding The Front Porch’s vaccination requirements for the fall semester. These requirements reflect our primary goal to safeguard the health of our students, faculty, and staff so that we may continue to experience the joy of music together in person. The Front Porch is uniquely positioned as an organization that serves children and adults in equal numbers. We take the safety of our children under 12 very seriously. In order to ensure their well-being, we all need to come together to make our space as safe as possible.
Effective August 23, 2021, The Front Porch will require all faculty, staff, and adult patrons to show proof of COVID-19 vaccine (card or photo of card) for in person Front Porch lessons and classes. Adult students must show proof of vaccination the first time they visit TFP. The Front Porch recommends that all students wear masks indoors; children under 12 must wear masks. Online music lessons are available for students over the age of 12 who are unvaccinated for any reason.
Our first indoor concert is scheduled for September 19. We will be in touch with further information about indoor concert protocol closer to that date.
The Front Porch is committed to providing a safe environment for all to work, listen, and enjoy live music. It is our hope that we can ease these restrictions once further progress has been made toward reducing transmission of the virus. Until then, we appreciate your patience and cooperation.
