BIO
I grew up in a musical family in Rocky Mount, Virginia and some of my earliest memories are listening to my father and grandfather playing and singing. As a teen I played with my brothers and dad in the Ramsey Family band, performing mostly at parties, dances and fiddler’s conventions. I took some time off from performing to raise my two children and concentrate on a career in banking and finance. When my son, Dillon, began taking banjo lessons in 2003, I got re-engaged and haven’t looked back. I currently play bass in a band called the Rivanna Roustabouts, made up of mostly other Front Porch teachers and with the Blue Collar Bluegrass Band out of Roanoke.
