I first picked up a guitar at age 11 when my older sister and her friends started a band. I
remember incorrectly teaching myself the chords to “Brain Stew” by Green Day. When I had
my first proper guitar lesson, I quickly became obsessed, and the guitar became a defining
feature of my personality. As I got older, I began to dabble in songwriting, realizing the
emotional outlet it gave me that I couldn’t get anywhere else. I earned a degree in jazz guitar
performance from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2020, and now devote most of my
musical energy towards writing and performing my own songs. In my writing I draw inspiration
from songwriters like Bill Callahan, Elliott Smith and Johnny Cash. I also enjoy dabbling in open
tunings, largely inspired by the playing of John Fahey.

I would love to play music in Germany one day, and learn German!
