Price: $276 for 12 weeks
Description: In Ukulele Exploration, students will learn basic chords on the uke and they’ll be exposed to the layered elements of music and improvisation. We work together to understand the importance of rhythm, and then layer harmonic elements on top of the beat. We use other instruments such as special xylophones that are notated to explore these elements. This class is meant to open children to the idea that they can create music in the moment and improvise. Ukulele Exploration is a building block for future musicianship and an exercise in deep listening, which of course is fundamental to ensemble work. Parents are encouraged to join in, but not required.
It is possible to pay tuition in three monthly installments of $95 each. Send the following information to Jess@frontporchcville.org and we can help you complete your registration: name, phone number, address, age of student if a child, instrument, experience level.
