Tuesday Tunes: Family Square Dance with Faster Than Walking
June 26 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The Front Porch, in partnership with James Monroe’s Highland, will host the 4th annual Tuesday Tunes, a three-part series of sunset concerts at the home of President James Monroe. These performances are a perfect opportunity to bring the family out with blanket and chairs in tow to enjoy music from Virginia and the mid-Atlantic region! Tuesday Tunes is a free concert series.
For our first Tuesday Tunes of the season, come out and see Faster Than Walking! This concert will include a family square dance with Hannah Johnson as our caller!
Faster Than Walking has been playing old-time music together since the mid 1990’s. Started by fiddler Joe Mead and harmonica player John Murphy, the current line-up includes Dan Rublee on banjo, Chris Leva on guitar, John Murphy on harmonica, John Mead on fiddle, and bassist Zach Blatter. They have been together for 15 years, sharing the stage with acts such as Tony Rice, Old Crow Medicine Show, and many more.
