Description: Songs of the Carter Family is a repertoire class developed for students who have taken a 1A instrument class. It is perfect for students who would like to spend some extra time establishing their 1A skills while learning a few more tunes before moving on to the next level. Students will learn a number of favorite Carter Family classics, including Wildwood Flower, Will the Circle Be Unbroken, and Bury Me Beneath the Willow.

Prerequisite:Fiddle 1A, Banjo 1A, Guitar 1A, or Mando 1A, or the ability to play a handful of chords and simple tunes such as: Boil ’em Cabbage Down, Cripple Creek, Old Joe Clark

What students will need:

  • Functional instrument
  • Tuner
  • Notebook & pencil
  • Recording device optional
