Join us for an evening with three of Charlottesville’s finest songwriters. Terri Allard, Jason Pollock and Thomas Gunn will be passing around songs, stories and instruments in an intimate setting where they will take us behind the music.
Award-winning singer-songwriter Terri Allard combines sultry sweetness and grit with an intimately personal writing style, lending a strong, authentic voice to the Americana music scene. Allard has five albums of original material under her belt and a strong connection to the Charlottesville community. She is also the host and co-producer of “Charlottesville Inside-Out” (CVIO)—a regional Emmy-winning TV show on VPM PBS.
Jason Pollock was a founding member of the band Seven Mary Three. As well as writing such songs as “Cumbersome” and “Water’s Edge”, he toured extensively, before retiring to concentrate on songwriting. He formed The Pollocks (of which Thomas Gunn is a member, and co-songwriter) sometime afterwards, and continues to perform with them today
Thomas Gunn is lead guitarist for Batesville’s storm chasers The Pollocks, where he is a co-writer with bandleader Jason Pollock. He also plays upright bass and acoustic guitar in the Michael Clem Trio, and teaches music at The Front Porch. Thomas‘ songwriting is influenced by music recorded between 1966 and ’72, and every song performed on Ken Burn’s current documentary, “Country Music”, which we haven’t finished watching yet.
