Banjo 2B for Kids – John Spangler

An event every week that begins at 5:30 am on Tuesday, repeating until December 6, 2018
Description: This class is a continuation of Banjo 2A. Be ready to kick up the tempo a little! Tunes this semester will include Liberty and a bluesy number with a walking bass line. Students will continue to develop technique and speed in their right and left hands as well as group playing skills.
A passing jam will be held for 15mins after each kid’s core class for ukulele, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and banjo players. Students will practice the skill they’ve learned in class and experience the joy of playing with others at a similar level in a group setting.
Prerequisite: Banjo 2A for Kids or equivalent, such as such as playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Boil ‘em Cabbage Down, Cripple Creek, Cluck Old Hen, Two Dollar Bill, Solider’s Joy, Angelina Baker, John Henry independently with slow and steady rhythm.
What students will need:
- Functional banjo (bridge, strings, tuners intact and in working order)
- Finger picks
- Notebook & pencil
- Recording device optional
