As we wind up our first session, we have a lot to celebrate! We launched twelve classes serving more than 50 students. We hosted workshops in fiddle, guitar, mandolin, and Appalachian clogging, with two more to come in songwriting and clawhammer banjo.
And there’s a lot more in store! The Front Porch is participating in Darden’s i.lab program this summer. Cay Lee Ratliff, our amazing business director, and the fabulous Maddie Legro, our full time intern, will be spending a portion of the summer with me at the i.lab. We are looking forward to merging innovative business ideas with our goals of creating an artistic community that is accessible, creative, and inspiring.
We are renting a beautiful property beginning in August — a spacious house in town with plenty of parking (woot!). Incredible teachers have been lining up this spring — we can’t wait to launch what is sure to be a fantastic program of events.
